Dear Carolina,

Naruto Uzumaki

A Better Future for Carolina Starts Here!

My name is Khizra Ahmad and I’m honored to run to serve as your next Student Body President. As a junior math major, dedicated melanoma researcher, and student leader, the past two and a half years at Carolina have transformed how I see leadership. I am running to change the injustices on our campus from equitable resources to food insecurity. Read More

My name is Sydney Phillips, and I'm a junior double-majoring in Ad/PR and Global Studies with a minor in Chinese. I chose to support Khizra because I love how her campaign places an emphasis on supporting students of color and minorities at UNC. Diversity of ally types is incredibly important, and I believe that her policies will help uplift and strengthen these diverse communities.

I support Khizra’s campaign because she combines real experience with the determination to turn her policies into action. I’ve seen her dedicate countless hours to building a better Carolina, whether through her work in skin cancer research or in the Executive branch of student government, always staying true to her word and holding others to the same standard. She leads with strength, empathy, and kindness, uplifting every group she’s part of, while continually learning and growing as a leader. For these reasons, I’m proud to support her campaign and grateful to call her a friend—Khizra has my full support in building a better blue.

I joined Khizra's team because of her incredible policies. I especially resonated with her intention to put money back into student organizations. It's important that the Student Body President represents everything the students embody and Khizra's policy do that and more!

I think Khizra would make a great Student Body President because she has both the passion and experience to advocate for student justice issues on campus! She's friendly, dedicated, and educated on how we can make Carolina a better place for everyone.

When I first had the opportunity to meet Khizra, she made an immediate impression by insisting on meeting in person and graciously inviting me to one of her favorite local coffee shops. From our very first conversations, it became clear that she is a person of strong intention, unwavering drive, and genuine compassion. As I progressed into my role as the DEI Policy Director, Khizra continued to demonstrate her exceptional dedication. Her passion, motivation, and work at UNC, along with her commitment to making a meaningful impact in the broader community, are truly inspiring and impressive.

I’ve been on this campaign since nearly the beginning as field director, but something Khizra did recently solidified that she’s the right choice for SBP. Despite not yet being on the ballot, she prioritized her team’s safety over hitting the signature count. This illustrated to me that’s she’s not simply in this to say she’s “president” one day, but that she truly cares about Carolina and its students

Khizra makes the “invisible” feel seen and heard. She’s not afraid to enact change and does so despite being faced with adversity every step of the way.

Khizra is one of the most competent and vivacious people I have ever met. Her zest for life and leadership is truly unparalleled. I am happy to call her my friend and I wish her all the best as student body president—provided you vote Khizra!!

I endorse Khizra because she’s student-focused, action-oriented, and committed to real change. She listens to students from all backgrounds, tackles systemic issues with practical solutions, and believes, “We will never hit perfect, but we can fight for better.” Khizra doesn’t promise the impossible—she works to Build. A. Better. Blue.
